Panel discussion: The impact of artificial intelligence (AI) on society
In the last 6 months, we are witnessing a new technological race in the field of artificial intelligence. Generative language models such as OpenAI's GPT and Google's Bard have attracted the attention of the general public – many people far from the IT sector have already used ChatGPT or other similar technology. In this panel, we’re going to look at the AI boom from several different perspectives:
  • technological: what these language models can do, what are their limitations and what is their future;
  • social: how their wider spread will affect society, what social phenomena they can cause;
  • personal: how this will affect us on a personal level, how each of us could catch up with technological progress.
The emergence of the Internet, and subsequently of social networks changed society – for better or for worse. Let's explore together how the growing adoption of AI-based technologies will change us.
